Endoscopy Asia is promoted by Vipulroy Rathod (MS; FASGE). Dr Rathod has been in clinical practice in Mumbai for more than a decade as a Consultant Endoscopic Surgeon at various premier hospitals, and has vast experience in the field of Advanced Endoscopy and Gastroenterology.
A personal note from Vipulroy Rathod MS; FASGE:
It gives me Vipulroy Rathod MS; FASGE immense pleasure to present to you the State of the Art Tertiary facility, Endoscopy Asia centrally located at Sion on the 2nd floor of the Lion Tarachand Bapa Hospital & Research Centre, Jain Society, Sion (West), Mumbai, India.
I am fortunate and privileged to have the wholehearted support from colleagues of all specialties, which has enabled me to gain vast experience in the field of Advanced Endoscopy and Gastroenterology.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce to you our new facility Endoscopy Asia - Caring with Excellence… in Gastroenterology & Endoscopy.
We have the entire spectrum of flexible endoscopic equipment infrastructure along with the state of the art DSA equipment for complex pancreato-biliary and interventional radiology procedures. The equipments and accessories used at Endoscopy Asia have the highest international standards of quality and disinfection protocols.
Furthermore, our entire nursing and technical staff are highly trained and experienced. Our team of Clinicians and Assistant Doctors comprises of Gastroenterologists and Surgeon Endoscopists. We have the entire spectrum of Interventional Radiological procedures available at Endoscopy Asia which are done by renowned Interventional Radiologists of National & International reputation.
Gastroenterology and Endoscopy has evolved into a subspecialty and over the last five decades, the technological advancements have made it possible to detect, diagnose, stage and treat several gastrointestinal and pancreato-biliary ailments now without conventional surgery.
I am fortunate to have had legendary teachers throughout my academic and clinical career till today, who have inspired me to thrive for excellence.
I had a unique opportunity to have pioneered and popularized Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) in India over a decade ago. This whole hearted support of colleagues has enabled me to perform more than 15,000 EUS procedures in this time including more than 7500 Interventional EUS procedures.
Through having the largest individual experience of EUS in India and this part of Asia, we have learnt a great deal and evolved our practice over this period. It is heartening to share some of its salient applications in routine clinical practice where we have found EUS to be extremely useful and an almost irreplaceable imaging modality.
The ever expanding role of EUS in the interventional procedures, such as EUS guided FNA and therapy, along with its ability to provide high resolution imaging of biliary and pancreatic systems has aided ERCP in a big way to manage complex pancreato-biliary pathology. The diagnostic accuracy and impact on outcome has changed dramatically with a combined approach of EUS & ERCP.
To further compliment regular radial and linear endosonography, we now also have the ability to look into the Biliary and Pancreatic ductal system with Intraductal Ultrasound (IDUS) and 3D image processing to diagnose and stage pancreato-biliary cancers which are difficult to assess on conventional imaging modalities.
Needless to say that our vast Advanced Therapeutic ERCP experience has complimented our EUS diagnosis, for desired clinical outcomes. As the surgical principles have evolved with the evolution of newer technologies and techniques, we have found the role of combined approach of Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP to be of great value in patients with Acute, Recurrent Acute and Chronic Pancreatitis apart from Pancreatic Tumors.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce some state of the art endoscopic equipments which has enabled us with newer technologies such as Narrow Band Imaging (NBI), Magnification Endoscopy to allow early detection of gastrointestinal cancers and mucosal abnormalities. This in turn has enabled us to carry out advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) for early gastrointestinal tumors.
At Endoscopy Asia, we have also acquired the much needed Single Balloon Enteroscope. This will allow us detailed evaluation of the entire small bowel, having said that now there are no blind areas in the gastrointestinal tract for the endoscopist. The entire tract from mouth to rectum is accessible with a flexible endoscope and with the ability of biopsy as well as therapeutic intervention at the same time. Single Balloon Enteroscopy scores over Capsule Endoscopy as biopsy and interventions are not possible at present with the commercially available capsule endoscopy technology.
On behalf of the entire team of Endoscopy Asia, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit our Institute and kindly feel free to contact us for any further queries.
